Stihl MS180 Chainsaw

The Stihl MS180 is the perfect entry level chainsaw for homeowners who want a slightly bigger cut with slightly more power than that afforded by the base model.

The Stihl MS180 uses Stihl’s economical 2-MIX engine. The 31.8cc engine generates 1.4kW / 1.9hp which, combined with the 14” (35cm)* guide bar and chain, gives great performance for logging and the occasional felling of small trees.

The Stihl MS180 is easy to start and the main Off-On-Choke control lever is easy to operate and conveniently placed.

The MS180’s engine is fitted with a compensator to ensure that the engine keeps running at peak performance even when the air filter starts to get dirty.

Adding chain oil and fuel is quick and easy with Stihl’s easy to unscrew tank caps.

Chain tensioning is achieved on the Stihl MS180 by loosening two nuts (combination tool provided) and using the side chain tensioner which keeps your hands away from the chain whilst turning the adjuster.

Please note, cutting length will always be a little shorter than the bar length because of the way guide bars are measured. The difference between the guide bar length and cutting length varies by chainsaw model.
